Spring at Blue Lake

Lyric Opera of Chicago

The Lyric Opera of Chicago returns to Blue Lake Public Radio with eight Saturday performances, including:

Verdi: La traviata
Adams: Doctor Atomic
Rossini: The Barber of Seville
Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin
Handel: Julius Caesar
Puccini: La bohème
Strauss: Die Frau ohne Schatten
Verdi: Falstaff

Be sure to tune in each Saturday afternoon at 1:30 beginning on May 10th.

Live Jazz from the Blue Lake’s studios this month. On the 27th, it’s Evidence with tenor saxophonist Michael Doyle, trumpeter Chris Lawrence, pianist Steve Talaga, bassist Tom Lockwood, and drummer Fred Knapp at 10:00 p.m.

One of America’s great orchestras the San Francisco Symphony returns to our broadcast schedule this month. Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas welcomes guest artists such as soprano Dawn Upshaw, violinist Joshua Bell, pianist Stephen Hough, and other notables. Tune in Tuesday evenings at 8:00 beginning on May 6th.
