Adults Bands
British Brass Band: July 17 – 20, 2013
Brass instrument players with some experience are welcome. Trumpet players should bring cornets if possible. Horn players should bring traditional brass band instruments, if possible. Trombone parts will be available in bass clef. The ensemble will rehearse and perform traditional British brass band literature. The brass band will perform on the final afternoon for friends and family. The brass band will be directed by Dr. Ken Kroesche.
Concert Band: July 24 – July 27, 2013 (Music difficulty: grade 3-4)
Although all instruments and players are welcome, this session is designed for the player who would like to develop musical leadership skills. The music for this session will be medium easy to medium (grade 3-4), allowing for rehearsal and performance of high quality band music. This ensemble provides the perfect opportunity for the average player to gain experience and confidence. Participants are asked to be in good playing shape. This Band is under the direction of Greg Christensen.
Concert Band: August 14-17, 2013 (Music difficulty: grade 4-5)
Although all instruments and players are welcome, this session is designed for the more advanced player. The music for the session will be medium to difficult (grade 4-5), providing the more advanced player the opportunity to rehearse and perform major works for band. Participants are expected to be in good playing shape. This Band is under the direction of Donald Flickinger.
