2012 Blue Lake Alumni Choir Join us for the Verdi Requiem! The 2012 Blue Lake Alumni Choir is currently accepting applications. The Alumni Choir will present three performances of the Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi. Two will take place at Blue Lake: on June 15, 2012 (with the International Youth Symphony Orchestra and International Choir), and August 4, 2012 (with the Blue Lake Festival Orchestra, International Choir, and Staff Choir). On July 24, 2012, the Alumni Choir will again join the International Choir and International Youth Symphony in a performance of the Requiem at Hill Auditorium on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as a part of the fourth Experience Blue Lake. If you have past choral experience, we encourage you to participate in this special opportunity. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Alumni Choir members pay a $35 music fee for the Verdi Requiem score and rehearsal CD. In addition, there are required uniform fees of $28 for men and $64 for women. For more information, call Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp at 1-800-221-3796, ex. 292, or email bower@bluelake.org Blue Lake Alumni Choir European Tour Invitation In 2012, Blue Lake will again offer the opportunity for six members of the Alumni Choir to join the International Youth Symphony Orchestra and Choir for several stops on their tour of Europe. Alumni Choir members participating in the 2010 European tour had a tremendous experience. This year’s group will be joining the Blue Lake student ensembles to perform the Verdi Requiem with a guest conductor and regional chorus in each city. The tour will include private hotel stays and sightseeing opportunities in some of the most beautiful parts of Europe. Please note that space is very limited and we are only able to accommodate six individuals on this special tour. Reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Detailed information, including an itinerary and associated tour fees, will be available soon.
