Blue Lake International Exchange Program

Blue Lake’s Art Study Group under the direction of Carol Tice, Director Emeritus of Blue Lake’s Art Department, will journey through France from Paris to Aix-en-Provence on a unique experience in the visual arts. Eight days in Paris will include visits to Musée du Louvre, Musée d’ Orsay, Musée d’Art Moderne, Musée Picasso, Notre Dame, and a boat trip on River Seine with a visit to the Eiffel Tower and Sainte Chapelle. En route to and from Aix-en- Provence, students will have an opportunity to stop and sketch and/or paint some of the beautiful scenery that awaits them. Art majors who are enrolled this summer will have the opportunity to apply for this 2013 program during their stay at camp! Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp's Art Acquisition Awards, initiated in 2003 by Art Faculty Member Don Rholck and Art Department Director Carol Tice, features outstanding student art in a permanent exhibit in Blue Lake's Student Arts Center. During each camp session, one piece of student art is selected for professional display. Winners receive a substantial scholarship to return to camp next season.

As a part of "Experience Blue Lake", these student works will be on temporary display on the campus of the University of Michigan in July 2011. Click on an image below to see each work in a larger format.
