

Blue Lake International Choral Ensemble The Blue Lake International Choir is comprised of talented and inspired young vocalists and performs a full range of choral literature. Under the direction of Kelli Falls, the 2013 International Choir will join with the Blue Lake International Youth Symphony Orchestra to perform the Creation by Joseph Hayden in six European communities with a guest conductor and regional chorus in each location. They will also open the 2013 Blue Lake Summer Arts Festival with the Creation on Friday, June 14th and present an encore performance at Hill Auditorium on the campus of the University of Michigan on Tuesday, July 23rd. The 2013 International Choir Tour will conclude with a Homecoming Concert of a capella American choral literature at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp on Friday, August 2nd, and a final performance of the Haydn Creation with the Blue Lake Festival Orchestra, Staff Choir, and Alumni Choir on Saturday, August 3rd. 2013 International Choral Ensemble Kelli Falls is in her seventeenth year of teaching vocal music and is currently directing the choral program at Parker Middle School in Howell, Michigan. Her choirs consistently receive Superior ratings at District Festival, and have also performed at the State Choral Festival. In addition to teaching vocal music, Ms. Falls has directed fourteen full-scale musicals at the middle school level and has also directed for community theaters, civic theaters and assisted with professional theaters across Michigan. Ms. Falls earned two undergraduate degrees (Music Education K-12 and Elementary Education with minors in Math and Science) from Western Michigan University. She also completed a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University. Knowing the importance of training high-quality music teachers, Ms. Falls has mentored over fifteen student teachers and taught master level choral methods courses at Western Michigan University and has presented numerous workshops at other Universities. |
