 After his studies for trumpet, solfeggio, chamber music, history of music and harmony in the Conservatoire de Toulouse (France), Michel LaCombe has been, since 1975, Director of Harmony Orchestras and Music Schools of Foix and Varilhges in the Department of Ariége (France). He has directed music for many years and won a Great Prize at the International Festival of Zurich (Switzerland) in 1985. In all of the National and International competitions Monsieur LaCombe has received the maximum marks in Orchestra Direction.Since 1996 Blue Lake has sent the Faculty Jazz Ensemble, the Jazz Quartet, Faculty Chamber Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra, Choir and Ballet Ensemble to Foix, where Monsieur LaCombe has served as chairman. Also, since 2004, Michel LaCombe has served Assistant Conductor for the Blue Lake in France Program, in Figeac, France. During the 2006 and 2007 Summer seasons he served as Director of the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Wind Ensemble at Blue Lake. This will be Monsieur LacCombe’s first tour with the Blue Lake International Exchange Program as Southern Winds Music Director.
