Summer Camp For Adults
June 25-August 19
Don Flickinger, Director
All abilities are welcome to join Blue Lake's adult programs for several days of arts activity and camp fun in a rustic wilderness setting. Participants attend daily classes, work sessions, and/or rehearsals with experienced Blue Lake faculty. Participants also receive free access to all Blue Lake events and conclude camp with a final presentation. Once again, all ability levels are welcome — come join the fun!

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp offers a unique setting in which to enjoy your choice of art or music making and the Michigan outdoors in the natural surroundings of a State Forest. Blue Lake strives to maintain an atmosphere where students young and not so young who want to learn may do so in an environment which encourages creativity and recognizes the importance of the individual. Adult Campers are accepted at whatever their proficiency level may be and are encouraged to grow. Faculty and staff strive to motivate campers and share with them the joy of achievement in the fine arts. Enthusiasm is contagious as campers participate and enjoy. Adult programming uses both the central camp and Camp Niblock areas, encouraging communication between campers of all ages.

Adult Arts Summer Programs
Most adult programming at Blue Lake consists of four-day specialty mini camps providing multiple daily instruction sessions, meals with faculty and participants, performance outlets, admittance at major evening arts activities, and access to an unlimited variety of recreational activities in the area. Sharing ideas, background, and skills is always a highlight of Adult camper life.

Blue Lake's Campus
Blue Lake is located north of Muskegon, Michigan, in the Manistee National Forest and on the shore of Little Blue Lake. The campus is situated in the middle of 1,200 acres of preserved forest containing large white and red pine, oak, and maple trees. Camp Niblock, the camp area for Adult Programming, is currently in the process of developing facilities, and campsites, for Adult Campers.

Session Schedules
All programs begin with Check-in at 3:00pm, followed by orientation, first class session, and a social gathering. Regular classes begin first thing in the morning each day and continue through the afternoon, with appropriate breaks for meals, recreation, rest, and evening activities. Camp concludes with a final performance or exhibit. Participants may depart by approximately 3:00 - 4:00pm or choose to stay for the camp's performance of the evening.

On the Air
Blue Lake Public Radio, WBLV 90.3 in Muskegon & WBLU 88.9 in Grand Rapids, is located on the campus of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Campers often have the opportunity to attend live broadcasts at Stewart Music Shell.
