Blue Lake’s Dance Program concentrates on daily ballet technique classes followed by either pointe, men’s classes, partnering, variations, injury prevention, character, jazz, or modern dance. Students receive five hours of daily instruction, coaching, and rehearsal time. Students can complete their instructional day by choosing a Minor, allowing them to experience another area of interest while at camp. Click here for a complete listing of minor courses. Students also have the opportunity to hear various performances presented as a part of Blue Lake’s Summer Arts Festival, as well as participate in recreational activities and other camp events. Because of the diversity of dance classes offered, a list of required dance attire will be sent upon acceptance into the dance program.
Blue Lake will be holding scholarship auditions/master classes at select locations throughout the Midwest during December, January, and February. All prospective dance majors are encouraged to participate in a scholarship audition/master class. Students should bring a photo of themselves in first arabesque position.
