Medical Care Requirements:Michigan State Law requires that all campers provide the camp with their health history and parent/guardian signed release statements for any health care. Campers will not be accepted on Opening Day without a health form. Michigan law also requires that all medication (prescription & non-prescription) be stored in the camp’s Health Facilities and dispensed there. Health history forms and other medical requirements are sent with final instructions after campers are enrolled and are due 30 days prior to arrival. Health Facilities: The Health Lodge provides firstaid care for campers and deals with any emergencies which may occur. A camp nurse and other certified personnel are available 24 hours a day to assist campers with medical needs. Ambulance and hospital care are available 15 minutes from the camp. Transportation is provided by qualified health personnel. Special Needs: Arrangements for enrolling children with significant physical limitations, medical concerns, or cognitive/social disabilities must be made prior to submitting the camp application. Examples include but are not limited to diabetes, life-threatening allergies, injectable medications, mobility concerns, and autism spectrum disorders. To help Blue Lake staff properly prepare for your camper, submit detailed information with application or contact the Blue Lake Health Director at 800-221-3796. Blue Lake provides three balanced meals daily with regular and vegetarian options and an extensive salad bar. If your child is not able to consume these meals due to a significant health restriction, you are welcome to supplement our menu with personal food/beverage items. Some limitations may apply.
