Dear Blue Lake Friend,

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s 48th summer season is now complete and it is gratifying to reflect on the significant impact we had on so many young lives. In fact, more than 6,000 students attended Blue Lake this summer from 73 Michigan counties, 38 states and 11 foreign countries.

Our mission since 1966 has been to inspire children to achieve their potential in the arts in a beautiful, natural setting. Identified by the Governor’s office as Michigan’s largest provider of arts education, Blue Lake continues to serve that mission through our summer camp and NPR affiliated Public Radio Stations.

The Blue Lake International Exchange Program further inspires our students by providing a window to the world. More than 11,000 Blue Lakers have performed throughout Europe since 1969, and this summer’s program featured 7 performance groups with 300 students touring France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Denmark.

According to Detlef Gürth, Parliament President of one of Germany’s largest states, Sachsen Anhalt, and host of the 2013 Blue Lake International Jazz Orchestra, the opportunity for our youth to establish meaningful exchange relationships through programs like Blue Lake turns this world into a more peaceful place. We have partnered with the Blue Lake International Exchange Program to advance this mission as we have been impressed by their long term history, excellent organization, and reputation as one of the most respected exchange programs in the world.

Your support is critical to sustaining our work and we respectfully ask that you consider making a gift at this time. With your help, we are bridging the gap for those students who would otherwise be unable to attend Blue Lake. Remember that a scholarship contribution doesn’t have to be large to make an impact. Each gift is another step toward giving a child an experience that will have meaning for years to come and 100% of each scholarship donation is utilized for tuition assistance.

Thank you for your continued loyalty to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Your participation truly makes a difference as we work to inspire the next generation of Blue Lake campers.

Sincerely,

Fritz Stansell, President

Bill McFarlin, Vice President - Development
