Chamber Music
Piano Chamber Music
Piano chamber music is an optional 4th class during both sessions 1 and 2. The class is open to piano students age 9 and older, in Suzuki Book 3, Kuhlau Sonatina and above. This class is offered in addition to the regularly scheduled three classes: individual lesson class, repertoire review class, and Orff/improvisation class.
Piano chamber music students play duets during classes and join friends and students in ensembles. All groups play in the final piano concert.
Advanced piano chamber music is open to students age 12 and older in Book 5 and above. These students will learn more advanced 4-hand duets. Chamber music studied which is non-Suzuki will be sent to registered students after May 5th. This class is in addition to the regularly scheduled three classes.
Piano Chamber Music has limited enrollment and student registrations are due by April 15th. Late registrants may not be able to be accommodated in the program.

Guitar Chamber Music
Guitar chamber music is an optional 4th class for students in Books 4—9 who will perform in guitar ensembles. This class is offered in addition to the regularly scheduled 3 classes: individual lesson class, small group class, and repertoire review class. Students should be able to read notes in first position.
String Chamber Music
Advanced string chamber music is open to any string student age 9 and older in: Violin Book 5, Viola Book 3, or Cello Book 3, or higher. Ensembles will be formed with each student playing one on a part. Each ensemble will perform once during each session. Bass ensembles will be formed at camp
The daily schedule of these chamber music students will include 4 classes: the individual lesson class, repertoire review class, orchestra, and ensemble. Students participating in the string chamber music program are encouraged to attend both sessions for a more extended experience, however ensembles will be formed both 2nd and 3rd sessions.
There are at least 2 orchestras each session: “Haydn” for the younger students, and “Mozart” for the older students. Each orchestra will perform in the concert the last day of each session.
To facilitate the formation of ensembles at camp, string students NEW to the chamber music program will be asked to send an audio cassette tape or CD. A chamber music information form with music excerpts and more specific instructions regarding preparation will be sent after receipt of registration form.
Former students may choose to send a tape or CD showing progress in sight reading skills. Students will be placed in groups corresponding to the sight reading, teacher’s comments, and playing demonstrated on the tape or CD.
Young Reader's Orchestra
This orchestra is especially for young students with some reading experience, ages 7 and up in: Violin, Bk 3-4, Viola, Bk 2, Cello, Bk 2. Bass. Bk 2. Class will meet every day in addition to the regularly scheduled 3 classes. No tape or CD is required. This Orchestra will perform on the last concert of each session.
