For all Book 1, applicants must be a High School graduate and have taken ECC. For all books above Book 1, students must have passed all the preceding books and ECC.

To qualify as a participant in training courses rather than auditor, applicants must submit a video audition of specified repertoire to the SAA, preferably prior to enrollment. Tapes should be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to the course starting date, with the required fees and a completed application form. If sub-mitted later than 8 weeks before the course starting date, audition results de-termining participant eligibility may not be available prior to the course, and will require late audition fees.

For courses occurring during summer 2012, applicants submitting videos later than March 31, 2012 may not receive audition results prior to the course, even if meeting the above deadlines. An applicant may enroll late as “audition pend-ing,” but will incur late audition fees, and audition results determining eligibility for participant credit may not be available until after the course. If auditions from “audition pending” applicants are not accepted, their course work will not be eligible retroactively for SAA credit registration as a participant, only as an auditor---even if course work was completed.

For complete information, please see the SAA website at
http://suzukiassociation.org/teachers/training/. The downloadable video audi-tion application form (with instructions) is available there; or call the SAA toll free (888) 378-9854 for this form.

Workshop participants should prepare the repertoire to be studied to the point of performance. Memorization is not required but recommended. Participants should be conversant with the ideas presented in Dr. Suzuki’s Nurtured by Love.

All participants will be performing in class. It is recommended that participants bring a notebook and device for videoing or recording to all sessions. 100% at-tendance is required for registering the course with SAA.

A John Kendall Scholarship is available for one Violin Teacher Trainee. For re-quirements and application, please contact Pat Smith, Registrar.
