New Yahoo! Group created for Camper Alumni

In late July 2007, we announced that a former Blue Lake staff member had started a Yahoo! Group for other staff alums. That group has enjoyed great response and dozens of former Blue Lakers have reconnected.

Now, we're happy to announce that former camper, Jacki Halm (BLFAC 1974), has started a group for camper alumni.  Jacki's description of the group is that it is "[f]or any alumni camper that attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and wants to re-connect with other campers."  You can find the front page for the group here. [http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/bluelakealumnicampers/]

As with the Staff Alumni Yahoo! Group, this group is not an "official" part of Blue Lake's website or Alumni Association.  Jacki is the moderator of the group.

Again, you can click on the following link to find out more about and subscribe to this group:

Former camper Brian Logan to be featured on NPR’s From the Top

Brian Logan, a euphoniumist from Tallahassee, Florida, will be featured on an upcoming broadcast of National Public Radio’s From the Top.

Logan attended Blue Lake in 2004 and was a member of the 2005 International Southern Winds, under the direction of Dan Root.

Brian will participate in a taping of this popular NPR show at Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach, Florida, on January 13, 2008.  The show will be broadcast at a later date.

From the Top, according to its website, “encourages and celebrates the commitment of young people to music and the arts through a variety of media, including nationally broadcast television and radio shows, education programs, and our website.”  The show is hosted by award-winning pianist Christopher O’Riley.

More information can be found at http://www.fromthetop.org.

Good luck, Brian!
